On Thursday, September 12th, I had a small artist discussion about my more recent work. What came out of the conversation was quite interesting. It is important to my more recent thinking about my place in the world of art. As much as I see the value in explaining my work, it’s far more important that the work inspire thoughts in the viewer. I feel that we have moved towards a place of making art too easy for the viewer because we are expected to talk about every aspect of the work. Isn’t that the job of the curator or historian? I want to know what you think.
